I was wondering what to do for my next blog thingy or diatribe, call it what you will. I don’t care really.

Then I had a stroke of inspiration. Why not keep it simple, safe and non controversial?

So I thought . let’s do Religion, Sex and Politics. Good idea, what could go wrong?

We can do the really important stuff like Golf , Flying and Sex another time. Not flying and sex together at the same time, you understand, this could be a bit of an issue in/on a microlight. However, if it is still on the ground then that is different……… anyway I digress….. Onwards or “Fuck on ” as we say in Golf………

I was going to start with Sex but thought – Religion is so much more fun. Well, not really but it sure does get people going. Sex is traditionally full of sucking and fucking but religion is full of fucking( and killing) and mostly sucks. So let’s go there first.

Let me point out first and foremost that I am an Atheist. Not a Theist and not an Agnostic. I do not believe in any God or such magical iron age nonsense.

It’s an interesting picture because it leads directly into the Drake equation – updated. If you don’t know the Drake equation it is a mathematical equation to determine the number of civilizations in the KNOWN universe. It’s a mind goggling number in the end but if you are a Theist I guess you would be rubbing your hands together in glee. All these new “Things” to convert. Did you know the Vatican, otherwise known as the head of the Catholic Mafia, has entered the digital age? They are selling a digital rosary bead and app. I tried to make it up but could not — so here it is…… guaranteed to, something or other.

Anyway, back to the Drake Equation from the 1960’s. Here it is..

If you’ve never heard of it, go look it up. N= the number of civilised societies. The number is humongous. The modified version ,from the 2000’s, to take into account new discoveries etc etc is abso- fucking- lutely huge. If you can’t still digest this, look up to the stars. Ignore science and keep thinking the Earth is 6000 yrs old, or believe in a god, any god. Then, excuse me, but you are pretty stupid. My thoughts.

Next…….Let’s look at the religion I was born into. Christianity and it’s sub sect Catholicism. Dad was a teacher in a Catholic school and the family had to be seen to be true and devoted adherents or he would be out of a job. He hated it with all his being. He despised it but because of his position had to be seen to be a true believer, Unfortunately so did we/I. I lasted until I was 11 yrs old when I broke. I have never willingly subjugated myself to those hypocritical bastards since. Except when I got married, that’s another story and I barely got away intact with that one but……

But beforehand you should, perhaps work out your religion potential.

To continue. Religion, specifically the christian god one.

We should go back to the beginning. Christianity, Judaism, Islam all originated here….

Except the other 3000 main religions in the world. I like Valhalla — cool place.

Back to the good old christian god. Anybody think there’s something odd about the Mary thing? Think about it for a minute. A knocked up girl, around 13 to 15’ish (that was not considered old in those early paedo days) has a problem . Sex outside of marriage usually means a rock on the head, or 20, so what better way to explain it than “god did it”. Perfect, can’t disprove it and accidently starts a new religion. you have to admire it. Joseph must have been a dumb shit though.

So, what is next in my attack on religion? Only the christian religion in this one but all are implicated, all are ridiculous and the cause of most of human misery over the years since the birth of awareness and or stupidity…… Still going on in the Red circle area folks. Religion is the source of all evil, No? Explain ISIS then and the current sectarian wars in the Middle East. I have no admiration for Trump but from my perspective (I’m a Brit) he is right to pull out. Leave them to it. Their religions will continue to allow them to slaughter themselves, they’ve been doing it for thousands of years and are pretty slick at it. Darwinism in action. Eventually they will rejoin the rest of the human race. In 500 yrs time, maybe , more likely they will nuke each other. Another reason to stand back and watch. Eventually their oil and/or supply of people will run out.

The old Testament…..

I like the old testament. It’s full of death, destruction, incest, and all sorts of other deadly stuff that you’d more likely expect to find in a Steven King book.

Tolerance there is not.

Not the kind of forgive and forget kind of god then. Even Pol Pot wasn’t this bad but at least he tried.

Yep, god is tough love.

I was going to do Mormons, Jehovas and the Catholic church but, you know? Not this time.

It’s all a pile of shit anyway.

We have so much, black humour wise, in common. He grew up in the psych world and I grew up in the medical world === no difference really.

Anyway, my first post. Kinda tame for the first one.

I love Golf and flying microlight trikes. Over the last few months I’d noticed that I was missing shots, couldn’t see the ball in flight and depth perception was not good when getting set up to hit the little white fucker. This was even worse when trying to land an aircraft!

So. Methinks. There is a problem here but I know what what.

A few weeks later I noticed that, from our elevated signature Tee I lost the ball and all of my teams balls. Couldn’t see them in the sky at all. This kinda got me thinking.

I had had surgery to my right eye 3 yrs ago to give me monovision. This is a superb solution whereby you have long distance vision in the dominant eye and reading in the other eye. A prefect solution. Until now.

I’d began to lose balls in the air. Miss hit balls more than normal and the world was losing colour. It was also getting kinda misty.

It finally dawned on me. I know what this is.

CATARACT,

I quickly made an appt with my specialist on Monday, got it at 12:30. Rigoberto has all the toys — http://altaretina.mx/ . Yep, cataract. So, said I, let’s fix the fucker. Like I said he has all the toys (I’m an ex Dentist so I know all about toys) So, several test later in who knows how many micro seconds he says — all complete. I can schedule you in any Thursday. Any space this Thursday says I, pushing my luck, Yes says he 4 pm.

Fuck.

I spent the next 2 days getting the required bloods and medical tests to say I would not die, at least until the procedure was done. BUT I kinda got the thought that maybe I was over imagining this. Was it really this bad? Perhaps the haze was normal in the distance.

Screw it. Let’s do it.

Today was 24 hrs post op.

All went brilliantly.

I went for my review this morning, 24 hrs post. Dr Rios took the patch off and the protective plastic contact lens. All good. Vision a bit hazy and blurred but he reckoned it would all come good within 24 hrs.

6 hrs later I looked outside and my first thought was “Holy Fuck” I could see a tree half a mile away and count the branches and leaves – including the butterfly. The colours were/are so vivid. Incredible.

Once I’d set the ball in motion to get this done I’d been looking through the eye,  and thinking ” Is it really this bad, am I over thinking this, how can I be sure?” I wasn’t.

  I can only compare the slow decrease in vision due to cataract to a fluorescent light . You install it and never notice the degradation until you have to replace it, then it all becomes so much brighter. Nice thing now is that I have perfect vision for distance and reading for life. So worth the investment.

So, go get checked. You don’t notice the deterioration in vision at all, but when it gets fixed, man do you realise it.
